The Sun Inn, Dent

The Sun Inn, Dent

The Sun Inn is located on the main narrow cobbled street through Dent, and is probably one of the most unqiue pubs in the whole of the Yorkshire Dales. Dating back to the sixteenth century, the Sun Inn has a very unspoilt interior featuring original fireplaces and oak beams that run along the ceilings barely seven feet above the floor, so tall people beware!

The Sun Inn, Dent, is also an extremely popular stop off for many visitors and was almost bursting at the seams on the Bank Holiday Saturday we visited due to a large influx of campers staying in Dent that weekend. Beer at the Sun Inn, Dent, was extremely good with a choice of about five to six cask conditioned ales. I am not really a fan of the 5%-6% ABV ales and much prefer the 4.2% beers such as Hambletons Stallion and Theakstons XB. The Sun Inn, Dent, that night were selling Black Sheep and Hambletons Best Bitter which really was on good form.

The atmosphere at the Sun Inn, Dent, is hard to fault and just goes to prove that you cannot beat a good pint in a good pub in the right location, and the Sun Inn, Dent, ticks all those boxes for me.
