Treyarnon Bay, North Cornwall

Treyarnon Bay, North Cornwall

About five miles down the coast south of Padstow lies Treyarnon Bay, a beautiful sandy bay which is extremely popular with holiday makers and especially surfers seeking to take advantage of the waves that roll in quite dramatically from the Atlantic Ocean.

Treyarnon Bay is one of the few places down the north Cornish coast that offers a good sandy beach and a far better place to surf if you want to avoid Newquay ten miles south which has become too popular and commercialised in recent years. Treyarnon Bay on the other hand is far more civilised and offers stunning panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and fantastic cliff walks along the North Cornwall Coastal Path.

The beach at Treyarnon Bay is extremely popular with holiday makers during summer and there are life guards on hand to monitor the beach and ensure Treyarnon Bay is a safe place to swim and surf providing visitors adhere to the flags and read all warnings relating to rip currents and where not to bathe.

Although Treyarnon Bay has no hotels as such there are several properties to rent in the bay offering fantastic coastal sea views and there is also an excellent Youth Hostel/Café situated on the cliff overlooking the bay that provides excellent accommodation for walkers and surfers.
