Treyarnon Bay Youth Hostel - Treyarnon Bay, North Cornwall
Treyarnon Bay is a wonderfully secluded bay about five miles south of Padstow offering fanstastic surfing conditions and a beautiful sandy beach for holiday makers. The Youth Hostel at Treyarnon Bay is situated at the north side of bay right on the cliff edge and is a fantastic base if you are planning to walk or surf.
The Youth Hostel Association currently costs £15 a year to join or if you are a non-member you just pay a £3 premium per night for accommodation. Usually accommodation at a Youth Hostel is shared in dormitories but some youth hostels like Treyarnon Bay offer double rooms for couples or families. For our stay at Treyarnon Bay youth hostel we had booked two single male and female beds for one night at a cost of £17 each which is very reasonable.
However when we arrived we enquired about a double room and were offered one for just an extra £5 and it had a fantastic sea view! The Treyarnon Bay Youth Hostel is fully licensed so unlike some youth hostels you are not permitted your own alcohol on the premises. Many people prefer to self-cater when staying at a youth hostel, but Treyarnon Bay has a very reasonably priced restaurant and the morning buffet breakfast consisting of cereal, full English or continental breakfast for only £4.50 was incredible value for money.
To sum up, Treyarnon Bay is a fantastic place to stay and the staff at the youth hostel were second to none, so I will certainly be visiting again because the hostel and the area are unbelievable.
